Student Achievement Officer
French School Boards
Ministry of Education
I have had the privilege of teaching in the Ontario education system for 32 years….in classrooms for 21 years, from JK to grade 6, from Special Education in a hospital to behavioral needs in the French school boards. Moving on as a math consultant for a year in the CEPEO school board, I then worked for the Ministry of Education Secretariat in Numeracy, as part of the team that wrote the French Guides to Effective Math Instruction in Mathematics for 3 years. I then became a District Math Coach for the CEPEO board for 6 years, working with Math coaches in 24 schools. Since September, I am a Student Achievement Officer for the Ministry of Education French school boards.
Assessment is an important part of my work because….
Throughout the year, I have engaged in a monitoring process of assessment in the service of learning with groups of principals in 3 French school boards. We have collaborated to understand every aspect of the Ontario policy, used resources to implement it and observed its impact in some of the schools.
The current assessment focus of my work is:
– Triangulating evidence of learning
– Giving feedback at all levels (student-student, teacher-student, principal-teacher)
