Paul G. LeMahieu is Senior Vice President for Programs and Administration at the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching and graduate faculty in education at the University of Hawai‘i – Mānoa. He has published extensively on issues such as educational assessment and accountability as well as classroom learning and the professional development and policy environments that support it. For eight years, LeMahieu was Director of Research and Evaluation for the National Writing Project. Prior to that, LeMahieu served as Superintendent of Education for the State of Hawai‘i.

  REASONS I’M A MEMBER OF THE TEAM:

Have a deep background in assessment, especially assessment to support the learning of students and the improvement of practice. With experience as a Undersecretary and Secretary of Education, I am particularly interested in the organizational and policy supports necessary to support such assessment.
