Throughout my career, I held various positions and had the opportunity to undertake various initiatives at the elementary and secondary panel. Although I started my career in Alberta, I mostly worked in the French-language school system in Ontario. Since 1998, most of my work focused on assessment and evaluation of student achievement. As an Education Officer at the Ministry of Education, I have worked on developing policies and resources related to assessment and evaluation. As a coordinator and director of Professional Training Services at Centre franco-ontarien de ressources pédagogiques (CFORP), I worked with a tremendous team of consultants that provided on-site training in schools from the 12 French-language school boards in Ontario. The mandate was to build teachers’ (Grade 1 to 12) capacity to effectively implement assessment and evaluation policies and practices.

Assessment is an important part of my work because….

When used properly it has a positive influence on learning for all (the learning of students, of teachers, of leaders).

The current assessment focus of my work is:

For the 2013-2014 school year, I am coaching principals to monitor and support implementation of assessment for learning and assessment as learning practices in their school.

You can find out more about assessment in my jurisdiction here:
