She focuses on system, school, and classroom alignment and learning through a variety of topics including professional judgment, 21st century learning, powerful classroom assessment strategies, student engagement, classroom teaching, feedback and feed forward processes. Educational leaders count on Anne to be both research-based and practical. Her insightful understanding of educators and the realistic challenges they face in learning and improving using assessment for learning is appreciated.
REASONS I’M A MEMBER OF THE TEAM:
I was asked by Rick Stiggins to form and lead the first Canadian team to Chester, UK in 2001 because of my work in the area of classroom assessment. Rick first called me in 1992 when he found my first book on assessment, Together is Better. We have been friends and colleagues ever since. I have considered it an honour to attend every International gathering. The learning and ongoing collaboration is wonderful. I deliberately share my learning so I can connect educators to powerful research that supports their work on behalf of students.

TITLE OF PRESENTATION
Transforming Schools and Systems Using Assessment for Learning
–>
When we deliberately use assessment for learning to create alignment from student learning, adult learning, school learning and system learning, everyone and every part of the organization learns more. Currently my work focuses on sharing accounts from a variety of settings and contexts, developing materials to support learning at every level, and working to connect educators with the research that supports this work that is being undertaken internationally.
